Are we excited? Some good news, there's a video online going viral where we made three consecutive passes in training yesterday. So things are looking up! Team News ----------------Onana AWB--------Varane----Evans------Dalot ------------Mainoo----McTominay Rashford----------Bruno-----------Garnacho -------------------Hojlund Bench are the 2 goalies and all the U21's.
But Rashford 'doesn't want' to be striker so should make more of an effort to give our actual striker chances, instead of feeding off the rebounds of his wild shots. Hojlund has missed a couple from actual crosses though. But they weren't crosses by Rashford! United should spend the entire second half trying to set Hojlund up and get this ****ing monkey off his back.
Nah he may not want to be a striker but he's still expected to score goals. He's got pretty much every shot on target and they've been decent strikes. He also set up Dalot for the goal. Can't have a go Rashford every game when he's played alright. Hojlund has had gilt edged chances to score. He's had plenty of opportunity to get the monkey off his back, that's not Rashford's fault.
You know maybe the coaching team should work on all the players with their finishing. That might be a better, long term plan like. Because for a long time they've ALL been ****. That's not Rashford's fault either.
You think Rashford has played well? That interesting. Because I don’t, at all. It's all about him, he never looks up, never looks to supply anyone else, ever, and hasn't scored or come close to scoring. That doesn't equate to having a good game.
McTominay in the meantime time has been borderline invisible. He's meant to be at the centre of everything.
Well he supplied Dalot. And he's defo come close to scoring twice as I mentioned in the first half. What I find strange is that he gets all the grief and yet Bruno who's played worse, and has for a long LONG time this season, gets no criticism on here.
He supplied Dalot after one of his wild off target shots came back to him and he just laid it off to someone who could have a better go at it, and they did. He's not once tried to whip a ball into the box for the number 9, or anyone else, to have a go at. Not once. Every time he shoots.
Bruno gets no **** because he doesn't hide and he doesn’t sulk. Rashford, unfortunately, does both (visibly) and is rightly called out for it. Bruno is a demonstrative whinger but he does try to be the focus and fulcrum of what the team does.
Rashford doesn't cross balls in I agree, but he has put it into the box or cut it across near the byline. He just did it again a minute ago. 3 players running in, none of them did anything with it and then Bruno skies it into row Z.
Bruno, if we're measuring by "supply" and "goals" like with Rashford, other than the pen has done neither. He also has his head down and runs into cul-de-sacs and then gives away possession or the attacks break down. As a number 10 he never carries a game. Never. He's been average for far too long. So yeh he should get the criticism.
That's not the point though, form. Yes, he's been technically poor, but he works all game and makes efforts, even though often poor decisions, to change and win games. Rashford has for a long time been visibly lacking in effort, and sporadic even when he does put a 'shift' in. He also not scoring, or assisting, so that weight is on his back. He can change that perception, but it's up to him. As bad as Bruno has been form wise, he's not lacking in the effort department.
Realistically, that's a simple win, as it should be. It was only the finishing and supply that was bad. Pretty much as usual. We had plenty chances and blew most of them.
