Looks like Celtic are going to rip-up Nadir Ciftci contract....which means we can probably off-load him and then he will be a free agent and find another club.
Derek Adams has said that there is no truth in the rumour that Nadir Ciftci might be returning to Cetic......
We have been led to believe that Bolton have offered Toumani Diagouraga a contract. Adams has confirmed that he has inquired about a Championship player on loan.
All this speculation about Toumi is turning out to be bullshit currently. According to a post on pasoti there is a report from Bolton which is alleged to come from internal source says Bolton are NOT interested in him. I think he might well go but I also think we should wait for some confirmation it is going to happen before we ship him out. Still hope he doesn't. The biggest shock is that nobody has rushed in for our out of first team players yet. Who wouldn't want them I say............... Have to be honest and say it does amuse me every transfer window the names and numbers people come up with as going to signs. If they all did sign we'd have a bigger squad than Chelsea.
Lots of interesting rumours flying around, not many of which seem to resemble anything I know for sure. We have signed remi until trhe end of the season He will be eligible to play V Bury on Saturday.....
It's perfectly logical Toumi would want to be closer to home if he has a choice of clubs - and that may have been on his mind when he signed for us. Just as likely he insisted on a break clause as that the club didn't offer a longer deal. I see Remi Matthews has said that although they were given 2 days off after the Walsall game, that still wasn't enough time to get to Norwich, see his family and return in a good state.
Players being loaned out to clubs only 20/30/40 miles away from their home club doesn't create the problems that Argyle have of distance and of course lodgings. Diagouraga didn't see his family over Christmas and as already said Matthews couldn't really make use of the two days off that Adams gave the team after the Walsall game to pop home......this whatever people say makes it more difficult for Plymouth to get their first choice players in during the January window.
I see Reuben Reid has been sold to Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed amount.....two and a half year contract agreed. Has he dropped that far down the pecking order ?
Surprised nobody mentioned the Argyle youth winning today at Burnley 0 - 1. So that's Man City and now Burnley. Another special result for the youngsters and they deserve a mention at the match tomorrow at the very least. Hope they can keep it going to the final.
Only just seen the result in your posting....excellent result....we'll have to hide these youngsters away before the big clubs strip them from our cupboard.
Jack Byrne 21 yr old Wigan midfielder at present finishing a 17 game loan at Oldham is on the radar of Peterborough, Plymouth and Oldham.
So it does seem to be Fleetwood.....surely it can only be because it's in the north.....the anti Brent brigade will be hysterical about that. To come second to mighty Fleetwood is personally rather humiliating for PAFC who are far bigger a club....that will be depressing.....
Not really, it is rarely about the money. But, if a club offers you an amount that is satisfactory to your desires and means you can see your family more often then it really becomes a no brainer. The relative size of clubs has little, if anything , to do with it.
Don't players commit themselves anymore to move to the area that they're playing for.....I spent my childhood moving every one or two years to where my father was posted to. Leeds to Fleetwood is 92.5 miles using the M621, M62, M61, M65, M55....a journey of nearly 2hrs. I thought he could of got nearer than that....but obviously Fleetwood must have a rich benefactor....they certainly don't attract many spectators. There ground capacity is 5311....today against Leicester they had just over 5000....just a tin pot club. Averaging just over 3000 in league one this season.
After today's game Toumi said goodbye to the fans. Nothing announced but it twas obvious he is going from the way he conducted himself. Gave his shirt to somebody in the crowd and took a lot of time to wave and clap his farewell. Good luck to him. As for it probably being Fleetwood well they have a wealthy benefactor so there really is no shock they can pay him well enough. Even if it is a 2 hour journey between the two it is still an awful lot closer to home than Plymouth.
Plus he knows their manager well. A lot of players prefer to have a stable family base as well, so I guess the chance to be closer was too much to resist. In all my years in the RN I didn’t move my family once, but I did turn down one or two postings to be closer to them. He came to us as an unemployed player to get fit and put himself in the shop window. Job done- thanks toumes, good luck and thank you-move on.
