Yeah a lot of positives imo. played well, but wolves are a really good side. Another day with a bit more luck and we draw or win that. James ward prowse is a sensation. Not just the goal but he was really good again today, all over the pitch
Disappointing that their first 2 goals came from errors, Tella losing possession and FF being caught in no mans land, but other than that we didn’t let ourselves down and kept on going. Wolves are definitely the most theatrical team we have faced this season, which is saying something when you look at other teams in the league. I guess their constant disruption of the opposition, stopping them gaining momentum, is why they can maintain such a good defensive shape. Wouldn’t want my team playing like that. We will just have to pick the 3 points up next week.
Not a terrible performance, Wolves were just better and know how to manage a game. Wonder what their “points dropped from winning positions” stat is?
When you have a striker like Raul, and Jose Sa between the sticks you can see why they win alot of games 1-0. Shame.
Of course it is, it’s to allow them to get back into shape and the opposition not to build up momentum. It’s clever in game management, and something we are ****ing useless at. We could learn a few things from them tbh, maybe not everyone’s cup of tea but it is a big part of the game
I doubt we will ever consciously do that because it’s simply unprofessional to keep trying to cheat the ref with all that rolling around
Agreed that we need to get better at it, but I’m glad we don’t do it. I couldn’t stomach watching that week in, week out to be honest. It’s ****ing embarrassing.
Ralph wanting to know the difference between the Wolves penalty and the booting of Romeu in the box second half. Says he thought the ref managed the game well though (I tend to agree - that was a tough game for the ref).
No shame in today's performance against a good Wolves team.... Could've been a different result on another day.
Speaking to Match of the Day, Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl said:"We tried everything today. I don’t know if the better team has won, but for sure, the luckier team. We had the very decisive moments in the game against us. "We never stopped believing in what we were doing. From 2-0 down against this team it is difficult to come back but it's an unbelievable free-kick by Prowsey. "In the moment, every time they [referees] check [the TV monitor] they definitely change their opinion. He did a good job today in a very difficult game. He let a lot of things run, he tried to keep the game going as this is what we love in the Premier League."
Were you laying down, getting treatment when you wrote that? You have some bloody good players but **** me, do they like a lie down. Edit are you a hammer on the troll?
Raul Jimenez’s instructions must be to fall over every time someone makes contact with him. F*cking horrible to see it. Game management my arse, it’s just cheating pure and simple.
Just a word about JWP's goal, that had the Roberto Carlos wow factor, so difficult to beat a GK with a dead ball from that far out, it was a perfect strike.
