Was he ever offered a pay-as-you-play deal from us?

If not, he should have been.

No real loss for you is it though. Maybe playing in a lower league may help his career and stop injurys as he wont be playing at the highest level.

Solidspur, according to the BBC website they said the club was unsuccessful in getting to agree to it.

I guess he liked his chances of being paid by another club whilst watching TV in ward 5.

So theorectically Woodgate could have agreed to a Pay as you Play deal and not get selected for the 25 man squad and therefore not get paid until at Jan when the squad is revised after the window.

I'm not surpised these talks broke down myself.

Having said all this I would like to think he will be best remembered for his help in beating the Chavs in the Carling cup final - a trophy- something the young nomads can only dream of.

Ensil - to be honest it was inevitable. I am a huge fan of Woody, but we need younger, fitter players in there. I think we have learned from our mistakes. Will be far more unhappy if we let Younes go, as has been rumoured.

You'd need to be a Spurs fan to know what we're on about here Luke. He used to put his hand under his chest and sort of flick his hand upwards a couple of times as he passed the tv camera. Personally I thought he was letting us all know it was all going to go 'tits up'!

He was wafting the Vick in.

Either that or the ref had let one go and he sort of liked it.
