Blimey that was close what happened to the VAR when Kane was pulled down in the box were they all asleep
As the title of this thread suggests, rant of the world cup would be very very easy after sitting through that load of crap. Wally of the week would be more difficult. Not sure whether to vote for Blind Pew the Referee or Even Blinder Pew of the VAR. Think the Ref just shades it as he got loads and loads wrong whereas VAR only got several wrong.
I said that somewhere else Ron and started the post by saying "VAR if used properly........" The problem is they aren't using it properly. Some of the decisions either given or not given are so obvious that VAR shouldn't even be required. Then when the person charged with the job has viewed whatever the incident is from a thousand different angles says it wasn't or was whatever the Ref decided then it clearly isn't working. I saw you called Walker an idiot (I'm using the polite version). I can't agree with that. I do not know what he even did wrong. If that sort of decision was given against one of your's on a Saturday you would be fuming and rightly so. The fact that VAR had another look makes the decision even worse. The contact was firstly self induced by the Tunisian player ans ssecondly was so slight it would never have knocked my dead grannie over after she had died. The Referee was the one at fault for the penalty being given not Walker for whatever it was he was supposed to have done. Tonight's Referee should be sent home and never be let near a whistle ever again. He was shocking.
Totally agree greeny but the purpose of VAR is to correct the blatant mistakes and who ever was on that panel should be sent home with him
I agree the referee was crap but Walker should know better than to take risks like that in the penalty area. His arm clearly went up and there was contact with the striker's face. 9 refs out of 10 would have given the penalty. No complaints with that decision at all. What was he doing facing goal anyway? How no penalty decision (or even VAR used) against the tackles on Kane that would have drawn applause in a WWE event is beyond me. That was the most biased ref I've seen this tournament and shouldn't be allowed to ref another game imo - disgraceful, and shows once again that they have no idea how to implement the use of VAR
That was hilarious but i half expected the Senegal player Niang to miss he looked that shocked to have an empty goal in front of him
"VAR, a team of 13 referees based in a dedicated studio, provide assistance to the referee in real time through the use of video replays. The referee can call upon his assistants to help make decisions on penalty shouts, offences leading up to a goal, red card incidents and cases of mistaken identity." "AVAR3: Watches TV programme feed (sees what viewers see), checks and reviews incidents." Conclusion AVAR3 is totally blind or chose not to mention it, or is a complete wally. The others are idiots as they seem to have been looking at the wrong thing. FFS we weren't looking for anything and all saw it
Sometimes when you see what happened to kane at least 3 times wrestled to the ground and no penalty given the conclusion I come to is the var panel are either not up on the rules of football or they are getting a backhander and that wouldn't surprise me the way blatter and platini have abused their powers in fifa.
