how lucky were you lot not to loose 3 or 4 nil! we were all over you today and the massive gulf in quality between the two sides was clear to see.hopefuly your posts will be a bit more realistic after this. WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!
Spanish, the commentators kept banging on about Town being more reliant on set pieces to score (not today, but in general). Was that fair comment?
Only problem is........ That is the only threat we have and witj Tabb taking corners and free kicks, we are screwed!!
hmm..... .....will be interesting to see the reaction from some on here over the next few days. Chin up mate
Think it's fair to say Norwich were better across the pitch, that much is to be expected considering the squad they had last season probably shouldn't have been relegated. But to say we (Ipswich) were lucky not to lose 3 or 4 nil is a gross exaggeration. If Gerken played to the whistle and not just assumed Grabban was offside it would have been 0-0 and gone down as one of the most uneventful derbys in history - at 1-0 it probably still ranks lowly. The one on ones with Gerken that Norwich had in the second half were mostly down to us pushing on, albeit relatively un-effectively. Even then Ipswich managed to clear the danger without too much panic. Every other chance, for both sides, were half chances at best. We probably should have put that header early in the second half in and there were some promising moments we wasted.Norwich in general were attacking more but chances were similar to the chances Mcgoldrick was carving out for himself. When we concede a goal as we did, we deserve to lose the game, but on balance it really should have been a draw. Over the season we'll be ok, as we were last season, but we need to bounce back from what is becoming a disappointing start quickly if we will remain in the play-off hunt and improve on last season.
On paper? yes. On evidence of today's disappointing performance? yes But that assessment could have been, and was, given on many occasions last season and we finished 2 points off the pace.
0-0 draw, all your missed opportunities, our half chances we wasted. I brought up the one on ones you wasted/we defended. I acknowledged you were better across the pitch. My conclusion is based on the fact that, although it was mostly your attack vs our defence, only not playing to the whistle allowed you to get ball in the net.
I am not so sure it is that simple Mike, but I am not one to get in to a row over nothing, and you are entitled to your opinion
Think you've had to many "Suffolk ales "mate! We played classic counter attacking football and but for some wayward finishing should have been a cricket score !
A forum is designed for debates Thai, and we obviously all have our biases. Although the BBC appear to agree with me. Adams' side has been more expensively assembled than McCarthy's team of budget buys, and it was purely a more ruthless edge in the final third that proved the difference for the Canaries. Odd use of ruthless, considering the chances you wasted and it was only 1-0 but it gets the point across.
