and the second 2 were down to very poor defending by Martin. But we're not in the position we're in because of Ruddy, are we?
I quite agree canario, but when I suggested that we needed an upgrade on the keeper a few days ago, either you or RER suggested that McGovern/Ruddy were adequate for the Championship. I must admit he was brilliant against Newcastle, but since then ........
I think it was both of us said that they were adequate. My issue is that Goalkeepers perhaps more than any player (possibly except strikers) rely on confidence. I don't think that there's many if any keepers that would be confident playing behind our defence, so i'm disinclined to even consider dispensing with either of them until will sort out our defensive / playing issues.
That has been a problem for much of the season, which is strange because the game plan is clearly to get it forward quickly with the AMs following Jerome into the box for lay-offs or rebounds. When Howson was doing that earlier we dominated games but he seems to have either lost form or confidence. With any chance of Play-offs gone we should now be bringing in younger players to get experience for next season.
Fair comment canario and I fear that until AN 'jumps/is pushed', we'll keep conceding goals as long as we have Martinas one of our CBs. WHY doesn't AN at least try Efete partnering Klose, as he CAN'T be any worse than Martin???? What and drop his favourites of Naismith and Martin?? I'm not sure it will happen whilst AN is our manager.
Jacob called up to the England U21 squad for the Germany and Denmark games. http://www.thefa.com/news/2017/mar/20/jacob-murphy-called-into-england-u21s-squad-200317
Yes DD, he scored a penalty - the only goal of the game. See post #5644 http://www.not606.com/threads/general-football-thread.308147/page-283#post-10361056
Tony Andreu (remember him?) scored in Dundee United's Challenge cup win, apparently a sensational outside of the boot volley.
So Ray Grant is being recalled from Dagenham and Redbridge, as our under23s have a busy 8 days ahead - They're away at West Brom in PL2 this afternoon At home to Sunderland in the semi final of International Premier League Cup on Friday (FREE tickets still available) and it looks like being their biggest crowd yet!!! And we're away at Liverpool in the Quarter Final of the Premier League Cup next Monday. Edit - so whoever wins on Friday will play Porto!! Let's hope we can do it with our home support!!
Excellent DD and I hope you get the chance to see Glenn Middleton and how good he is!!!! I'll be in the Queen of Iceni for a beer before the game and I know some who are opting for the 'hospitality' - ie a 2 course meal in Delia's and a seat in the Directors' Box for£25 a head.
That's not bad value but I would prefer to be front row halfway line , 2 tickets posted to me for £1.50 rude not to . My mate likes TGI Fridays so I'll probably go there first but Peroni £5.50 pint so just a few sherberts. If it's weather like today I will be more than happy
I prefer to be slightly higher (row L) and right at the end of a row. The weather should be quite OK - ILD (remember him) and myself have been absolutely FROZEN at some of the games over the winter., but we've witnessed some terrific games of football - SOOO different to the carp the first team dishes up most games. I wonder if you'll get a chance to see Maddison/Godfrey, as they're part of the first team squad now, so COULD feature against Villa - oops, I forgot AI will be picking the team.
If you look at the line-ups, England made 4 substitutions and Denmark made 7. I think it was just a case of "we've seen what he can do, now let's look at someone else!"
