Maybe we were looking for a step up in their loan placings to give them a little more time to prove themselves? I guess no one wanted them so we excercised a necessary ruthless streak to get rid of seemingly dead wood. These youngsters just can't all make it. I'm sure there was/is potential there but they will have to find another way.

Hadn't realised his loan out there was potentially for 18 months, there's a deal in principle for him to spend all of next season there too.

No Idah though, should we be worried?

 

Happy with a lot of those. Idah is my next hope for first team football, I've been annoyed he hasn't been given a go in the cup or off the bench. You can't fault what the regime are doing with the youth. He seems like he could be an amazing impact sub. we don't have a lot of striker options, and he is so different to our first team strikers. He strikes me as the next Bellamy. We have missed a pacey striker since Jackson!

Ahadme's first game for U23's against Man Utd. Scores and some nice touches... Looks like another find!

 

That was his second game, his first was against Forest and he scored in that as well. He is reported as being Spanish but I believe be is actually Morrocan, though playing in Spain.

Under 23s come back from 2-0 down t draw 2-2. Idah with both goals.

What is a "youth loan" though? Not heard of that. How is it different to a normal loan?

 

Isn't it something to do with whether you are still on a 2 year 'youth contract' before you sign a professional one?
