Whoah....... I seem to have gone through 3000 likes and didn't notice. One like for every eight posts. That seems a fair return... Thanks for reading.... And realising its tongue in cheek most of the time.
How the feck did you work it out... Are you sleeping ok knowing you are walking round every day with a target on your back?
Are you telling us you're not a total ****wit and gold plated arsehole, after all? I apologise for my previous 900 replies
Nope, I am both of those..... However I would have given up if 900 of my replies had not even been noticed.
After what Ranieri did with Leicester who knows, a bit like Wilkinson with us, right man with the right ingredients at the right time. I guess Ranieri did already have a pretty good list of previous clubs but without investment in players it doesn't matter who we have.
Promotion didn't exactly come cheap for Leicester. Lost an average of almost 30m per season in each of their last three years in the Championship. Seems that's the sort of risk an owner is expected to take to build a championship winning squad
Their attendances were roughly the same as ours at the time which is interesting as they were challenging we weren't. http://www.worldfootball.net/attendance/eng-championship-2011-2012/1/
Gamble worked for them big time. At least it puts pay to all the nonsense floating around that their rise from the championship was done on a shoestring. If Cellino or Branson or whoever really want to give it a go, that's the sort of money they'll have to be ready to throw into the transfer kitty annually
No idea what they spent but don't think it was as much as you think https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012–13_Leicester_City_F.C._season https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_Leicester_City_F.C._season Scroll down for in and out
Figures are in today's yep Ristac for each season. Here's the relevant part Leicester’s owners, however, maintained their outlay, carrying losses of almost £30m in 2011-12, £34m in 2012-13 and £20.8m in 2013-14, the season when the club won the Championship title under Pearson. As I said in a previous thread, Bournemouth carried a loss of 38 million and have been fined for breach of FFP. All this getting up on a shoestring is utter bollocks. You need an owner that wants to do it and willing to fund it.
Eire. Could we please stop mentioning Branson, nothing suggests he's ever been interested. That was just sniffer's old rambling.
