Mbemba was crap for the first half of the season and Lascelles was turd for a few games. I'm not sure what medical help you require but why are top clubs taking our so called poorer players?
I'm not gonna attack you personally mate. I'm just curious [/QUOTE] Cheers I hope I'm wrong but I'll let you finish this sentence I'm usually........
Are Crystal Palace and San Lorenzo top clubs now? Mbemba and Laecelles were widely regarded as being some of the very few successes of last term, and players that will be a very good backbone for the champ. I'm not saying Gini is "poor", just that he had a relatively poor season last season, he may have been our top scorer, but half those goals were scored in 2 games, and the rest of the time he underachieved - he was lazy and went missing when it mattered. It would have been nice to retain him, but 25m is an absolute steel for a player who wasn't at his best last season.
There weren't any successes last season. The lack of consistency from start to finish with players having decent games every now and again is a major factor as to why we are in the Championship. Hanley will be first choice CB, possibly made Captain. It will be a case of who plays alongside him.
Well successes is wrong, but "not as bad as the others" anyway. Dunno about Hanley being first choice, as it breaks up Mbemba and Laecelles, who both really need to start. Could one of them play somewhere else? Dunno.
I'm only saying Hanley will be first choice CB as it seems most, if not all the players signed to date are good enough to be in the first XI. He may play three CBs at times, if not, I can't see one of them being a full-time sub. The squad seems to be developing well, with a mixture of youth and experience being brought in.
I'm expecting a fair amount of squad rotation so they'll all be in and out of the team from game to game. We'll likely be playing over 50 games, often 2 per week, so it's unlikely there will be a set team. I think that's Rafa's style anyway, no?
We always had it but the green players were on another level to the purple players Now all the players are orange
Even if we play 48 games in the season (conservative estimate with cup games) then the 3 of them could end up playing 32 games each so I don't see it as a problem breaking up a partnership or upsetting someone by dropping them. Competition at last!!
