It shouldn't be too surprising that England and Canada's women teams cannot keep the ball because against decent opposition, neither can England and Canada's men.

Couldn't agree more, sorry for lumping you in with that comment. Am very disillusioned with the the blokes football at the moment, think I'd rather watch the ladies giving it all than the overpaid arseholes I had the misfortune of watching at the KC this season, to compound that you have people blaming the manager as if the players attitudes are somehow his fault. I hope Hull City Ladies can move up the leagues to be honest, am lacking a team to support

You'd be surprised, wait for the reaction after Japan beat us as they most likely will

I usually respect your opinions but really you are the clueless one here comparing womens football to kids football, not a very well thought out opinion

I think OLMs comment really sums up the problem some blokes of a certain age have with the ladies playing, seen it a lot online, try watching the games on BT and see how professional the teams are set-up and managed before spewing nonsense about it being the 'same as kids football'

You patronising ****er, my age has nothing to do with my summation of a football match I just watched.

    'Those of a certain age'?

    ****ing arsehole.

One factor regarding women goalkeepers "apparently" not being as capable as men is that their average height is 5' 9.5" whereas the average for men is 6' 2.5" - a significant difference.

Seems like I hit a nerve there, maybe you should revise your opinions about the ladies football then

You could see that a bit last night with the Canada keeper struggling a bit with the goal and also Chapmans header, a few more inches on her she would have dealt with both those shots

    Calm down Lammy.

When you get to our age you need to think of the blood pressure.

    Have you considered Mindfulness?

It's really helping me to deal with my ****ing, twatting, bastard anger issues.

I now realise that anyone I see as a **** is just a friend I haven't made yet.

He's taken it a bit personally, but it's a fact that older people are more prejudiced, I wasn't referring to him in particular though!

I hope Japan put to the bed the 'its like watching the toddlers' kind of comments anyway, they play lovely football at times and are ultra-disciplined

Checking the odds, England are 2-1 to beat the Japs and 8-1 to win the World Cup, am tempted to have a go at the 8-1 as if they beat Japan then I think they can go the whole way. One thing in our advantage is we have a few rested players like Aluko and White who could still have a massive impact in the tournament, not to mention Kirby, and even changing the keeper could work in our favour.

You could see it the way she was grasping for those shots, it's hard to tell actual size from the TV. Telford, Englands third-choice is a similar size but is still a great keeper, she won't let us down if selected but Chamberlain probably will get the gloves if Bardsley is out
