Can see fresh legs in midfield tonight, probably Slater, replacing Smallwood or Doc, might even give Allayhar a run out, but don't expect too many changes. Lift the level of performance and grab a draw I reckon, but a win would be nice !
The way we scored both goals against Swansea was nothing like how we’ve scored goals under Mcann so what does that even mean...
Precisely. We don't 'need a big win' tonight (although of course it would be nice) We just need to stay up this season, simple as that. It would be nice to get mid table of course, but given the ownership changes if we are looking at summer investment players will hopefully be keen due to a new era and more ambition, not where we happen to finish this season Stay up...that's what we 'need' to do
Been very good the last few matches up until Saturday. Hopefully Shota has enough in the squad to rotate and help them out. They must be getting tired by now. Everyone needs a break just to freshen up.
I sometimes find myself wondering whether he's good enough, and ultimately I'm not 100% sure. But I'm acutely aware of how players in his position are always under-valued. A lot of people thought Ashbee was **** until we got to the PL and he began to be widely appreciated for his achievements. It's hard to see their contribution sometimes. I know I often don't see it myself with Smallwood but I think about the type of player he is and how we've been through it all before with other scrappy, defensive midfielders and I remind myself he's probably doing a lot of good that I'm not always seeing, or he wouldn't be playing so much.
Nothing has been confirmed but speculation suggested he has collapsed in training, paramedics attended, fears may be heart related
I get what you’re saying but Ashbee flung himself into tackles and got in the way etc, smallwood seems to want to play like a ‘neat and tidy’ sort of player and he appears to collect the ball off a cb and give it back again, or pass it to the opposition. He’s also the slowest player by a fair way.
