Took me a few minutes to get my head round it too, but it's quite simple.

The highest away attendance we played under in the 08/09 season was 75,569.

The lowest away attendance we played in was 17,689.

The average away attendance we played under in the 08/09 season was 36,973 which was second only to Liverpool.

Well the reply was much quicker than expected:

Might just email LUFC and see if they'll make the data public. Bit annoyed the FL don't though, what's the point in keeping it private?!

Bit stupid to not let the public, who are interested in this kind of thing, know!!!

It's not as if it can be construed as sensitive information to the individual business's, as they state the overall attendance for each match!

Unless it is the away fan's club that does not want outsiders knowing how many, or how few, have been sold?

But thanks, Ill Ducky, for keeping us informed.

That few for Norwich away? There seemed to be a lot more of us there than that. It's a 27k stadium - so there should be around 2500 for the away fans... There definitely wasn't that many empty seats!

They just have to offer us 2,500 or whatever the figure is. If we turn round and say we don't expect more than 1,000 to turn up then so long as segregation can be put in the extra 1,500 seats can be offered to home fans afterwards.

Was at Brentford away and Palace and Portsmouth. Just cannot believe they were all similar numbers, must be something wrong somehow - Brentford felt like a couple of hundred best and Palace and Portsmouth (especially) felt far more.

Am I deluded? At the wrong game. Brentford was dire - on and off the pitch!::confused:

That link above for the away attendances is a little bit useless given teams like Man U and Arsenal don't have the opportunity of visiting their own huge capacity grounds - will damage the average considerably
