I thought you were Foggy Dewhurst, but it turns out you're 18 or something. So there you go.

Coming up to thirty, yes. People often think I'm much older as I'm a dour **** (both online and in the real world). Also I'm much more of a Peter Sallis kinda guy.

All the polling suggesting that NO is well in the lead and that only about 1 in 10 jocks actually want a referendum, at the moment.

Looks like Scotland will be staying in the union for decades to come yet.

This development will have Aldo McHaggis storming out to the off license for some extra strength, deep fried, Buckfast... only to find that his heroes have banned the sale of alcohol before 10am... so looks like the missus and dug will be the focus of his frustration <laugh>

The Unionist vote has a 6-8 point lead at the moment.

If we were to have the same discussion any time between 3 and 9 months ago pro independence was winning by up to 10 points.

Alexander and his toadies are riding a wave at the moment. Current Westminster support has been bolstered by the success of the vaccination programme and with it the confidence in government across all Union states. I do, however, sense a wind of change. The fishing industry has been battered, the farmers are in a stew over the import of Ozzie beef -well done to those to that group Scottish pro-Brexiteers, who managed to score a hat-trick of own goals. They are also stalwarts of the traditional and 'Scottish' community with a far reaching regional political influence on the list of issues of importance. The pandemic has masked the impact of Brexit and the colossal waste of public funds with reckless emergency spending heaped onto Scottish debt

Looks like the debate in Scotland will not fade and opinions can be fickle

Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP have the powers to tackle poverty and other social issues without Scottish independence but are not using them to do so, a leading academic has said. James Mitchell, a Professor of Public Policy at the University of Edinburgh, told ITV's Representing Border programme that Ms Sturgeon's government has "ample powers" to address the social issues the SNP claims to prioritise such as alleviating poverty.

Sturgeon has 'ample power' without Scottish independence but 'isn't using it'
